A few weeks ago, we published the Industry's First Data-Driven Top Attorney Ranking in Trademark Prosecution and the ranking methodology whitepaper that described how we used Big Data and AI to identify the best attorneys in trademark law.
We hereby use a similar methodology to identify the top attorneys in trademark prosecution specific to Web3 ecosystem.
First, we identify the number of trademarks applied by each of the 50,000+ US attorneys within the following topics.
- blockchain
- crypto or cryptography
- cryptocurrency or crypto collectibles
- NFT or non-fungible token or crypto token
- metaverse
- digital artwork or digital assets
- web3
Second, we did the normalized weighted sum with this quantity and the Huski Index (as defined in the previous whitepaper). We call this the Huski Index for Web3.
The reasoning is that we want to identify people who are great in trademark prosecution in general (good Huski Index) and specialized in Web3 ecosystem (the number of relevant filings).
Despite some limitations, we still feel that this study provides valuable insight to the field of Web3 ecosystem, and we are excited to recognize and celebrate hardworking attorneys. Also, we are proud to serve the field with this entirely data-driven study informed by a weighted index of eight different success indicators and hope that this work could be a stepping stone for future studies.
